Wordpress for iPhone

photoI use Wordpress as the CMS to this site for several reasons.

  1. It’s the easiest CMS to impliment and the easiest to tweak.
  2. The community is friggin huge which means more plug-ins, hacks & things like Wordpress for iPhone.
  3. Most importantly, all these things add up to make my site easy to update and still flexible enough to tweak.

So, I am writing this post laying in my bed using my iPhone. The app works well. It would work better if there was a way to select text on the iPhone, that way you could add links and text styles without using HTML markup.

Good job Wordpress team, now I have another tool to update my site which I won’t use & feel guilty about.

Apple announcements

I really haven’t read to much speculation as to what Steve Jobs will announce in 3 hours on behalf of Apple today, but here’s a couple things I’d like to see.

1. New MacBook Pros with killer amounts of memory and a blu-ray drive. Ultimately, I want a blu-ray writer as I own a HD movie camera and would love to make my own Blu-ray discs. However, I would at least love to play my Blu-ray discs on my laptop.

2. Killer iPhone software. This was already announced so every one knows there will be an update today, but I hope it’s available today. I want to see the next gen software without hacking my iPhone.

3. .Mac. It has been a failure and I haven’t subscribed in years. It would be cool to be able to sync phones, laptops, internet on the go, no wires.

4. New iPhone. I won’t be buying one any time soon, but as a geek I’d like to see if Apple can solve the 3G vs battery issues. Things I wish my iPhone had: better camera, video, play Vimeo, better Notes app (the font sucks too), and like every gadget more storage. I think GPS would be cool, but I don’t see myself using it too much, but maybe I would if it was on a reliable 3G network.

5. Apple TV. I want to have an Apple TV, but I want full 1080 HD support. Even if iTunes doesn’t support it, so what? I would like to at least encode or acquire full HD elsewhere and play it. I’d also like AppleTV to have a browser of sorts so I can view Vimeo and Hulu.

Do you read me?

‘The top 100 or so books most often marked as “unread” by LibraryThing’s users. Bold the books you have read, underline the ones you read for school, italicize the ones you started but didn’t finish.’ Neds-Fox added “strikethrough for the ones you’ll never ever read in a million years.” via Neds-Fox

Let me know which books I haven’t read, I should put on my ever growing list.

America runs on fear and donuts

Rachel Ray is a terrorist

I knew Rachel Ray was a terrorist, but a terrorist to our English language as I cringe whenever she says “delish” or “E.V.O.O.” Rachel Ray is more vanilla than the whipped cream topping on those 2,000 calorie frozen coffee drinks she’s pimping for Dunkin Donuts and as I see it looks like she is wearing a scarf that gut tangled in a shredder. If the ad were to be pulled it should be for tassel overload. I also think 30 minute meals is a subversive plot sprung on by Al Qaeda. They have to cook easy and quick meals moving from cave to cave in Pakistan.

Unkind DonutsIf you want to read more check out this link.

Also John McCain’s daughter, Meghan has been banned from America and Dunkin Donuts for getting her terrorism on to. Check out this story.

Desktop wallpaper

My daughter Maya loves to draw and draw and draw which is awesome (watch this HD video of her drawing). Our rooms are filled with her drawings taped to our walls. This drawing was done at my desk as we were watching cartoons and what-not on YouTube. She was using my highlighters. The drawing has been a desktop wallpaper of mine lately and thought I share the love.

My MLB American League All Star Ballot

Personally, I think it’s too early in the season to be voting for the All Star Game this year, but the ballots are open so I placed my first vote (of course I’ll vote again and often).

When I compared players at each position I sorted them by RBI as I find that it is the most important stat in baseball. Obviously, I didn’t pick just the RBI leaders, I took other stats in consideration too.
